And the winner is . . .

Charlotte

After much back and forth, it seems we've decided on a name for Baby Girl: Charlotte.

(For those of you not up on your pop culture references, the picture is of charmingly demure character Charlotte from Sex and the City.)

Charlotte is the French feminine diminutive of Charles. Though neither one of us has any French blood running through our veins, Jason's step-dad is of French origin. Charles is of German origin and I am 1/4 German, so that is also connection. Charlotte became a popular name in Britain after it was introduced there in the 17th century; our über English last name is testament to the fact that there is a lot of English ancestry in Jason's family!

It is so nice to have an actual name for Baby Girl. In fact we think it is terrific!

  1. I love it! I also love the reference to "Charlotte's Web." The girls and I just finished that book! Will you call her Charlie?

Yes, we'll call her Charlie as well. Right now we're calling her a lot of both. We'll probably wait until she's born to see what is better suited for her. :)
